ESC in Media laboratory in Social Culture Centre „Die VILLA“
project dates: September 2019 – August 2020 (12 months).
project topics: media laboratory (work with children and youth within media pedagogical projects, assistance of preparation, process and follow-up of courses and workshops)
volunteer profile: age 18-30 years / language: basic German knowledge is required (A2 / B1) / interest in working with children and youth/ active and interested in social and cultural work / please select one of the ESC places in the application and refer on it (media laboratory, cultural youth work or school social work)
project details: The volunteers help with public relations and office work in the VILLA information office and regarding the EVS program (like asking reports from current volunteers and putting them on the website, bringing information material to certain places in town, supporting the EVS-coordinator at information events). They can also have a look in other working fields of the VILLA and support them. On top of it, all volunteers have the opportunity to independently organize a project of their choice as part of their voluntary service. In addition, there will be realised several project days towards topics of solidarity in europe / participation / social projects for all EVS volunteers.
The volunteers have to take part, learn and to realize an own social idea. They should also inform about social project in their home country and present it to the others. Furthermore, volunteers are asked to make a presentation about his/her EVS and / or other mobility possibilities in Europe in a school class.
Volunteers are also free to make other additional projects. The type and size of the project the volunteers can choose themselves. The VILLA offers appropriate ideas and help.

ESC in DOK Filmfestival (2 places)
project dates: April 2020 – December 2020 (9 months).
project topics: creativity and culture, ICT – new technologies – digital competences, communication/organisation
volunteer profile: age 18-30 years / languages: basic German knowledge is requested (A2 / B1), good English knowledge / interest in documentary and animated film movies / interest in organisational tasks and like of computer work
project details: The future volunteer will get first an introduction into all areas of the Festival and receive a general insight and overview. In addition, the volunteer will be introduced into the technical processes, communication (website), social media (facebook and instagram). Also the volunteer will work in the field of Volunteer coordination for the DOK-festival.
As volunteer you will get to know the whole preparation and organisation process of the festival during the EVS and work active in it. You will NOT make films. The tasks are within the organisation of the festival.
After introduction and orientation the two future volunteers will focus on working on one of these two working fields:
1) Public relations: campaign planning, project management, media planning/print management, contact with / support of journalists, database and website, online redaction, press review, communication on the website, socialmedia like facebook and instagram and furthermore the assistance in coordination of volunteers for DOK-festival
2)Program: support the film entry process, transfer films into the database, research and request film entries, support the programm coordination, communication with film makers, support the coordination of cooperation, support the coordination of Q&As and additional programme events.
